Chateau Batailley Vintage 2004 VINTAGE WINES 1955A wine from the Borie Manoux stable and run, since 1961, by Emile Casteja. A traditional claret and a firm favourite of ours. The 2004 vintage was a good vintage for the region, but was overshadowed by 2005. Typical Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 75cl Bottle. Abv% Not Stated Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level in neck.

the wine shows great potential and will improve with ageing

we enjoyed it after an hour in the decanter

there were some good wines on the left bank

softening over 8 hours

allowing the aromas to mature slowly and the length and complexity of the wine to develop

opening on red current

Whilst most wine lovers are aware of Chateau Musar there are a number of notable wineries in the Bekaa valley

The cork was firmly stuck to the neck and I ended up having to push it on in and decant
