Domaine Henri Delagrange, Volnay Vieilles Vignes 2022 volnay100% Pinot Noir from 1. 8 hectares, 55 years old plot. Density: 10,000 vines per hectare. Soil: A succession of limestone with ferruginous oolites. Manual harvest. Alcoholic fermentation 18 days in open, temperature controlled, stainless steel vats; very little punching down and some pumping over. Ageing 12 months in barrels (15% new barrels), then the whole cuve is returned to stainless steel vats for another 4 months. Only 12,000 bottles produced.

These families decided that since they share the same landscape and culture

The wine is fermented separately at 16 °C in stainless steel vats for 2 weeks

wild berry and black pepper aromas in particular emerge

with a still young but not aggressive tannin and a background of fine minerality
