Toward the Light Above bluewaterIve spent years painting light as it lands. This piece asked me to paint light as it escapes. That inversion changed everything. The horizon was gone. Gravity was gone. What remained was a vertical longing the eye pulled upward toward the surface, where two worlds press against each other. The greens became layered deep emerald at the bottom, warmer through the middle, then that extraordinary silver blue just below the surface where sunlight fractures

without effort

Dipping the brush into pools of pink

and the composition sustains a perpetual

without explanation

The layering of soft dots creates a dreamy

eliminating any additional fees

rendered in deep blues

To live with this diptych is to have a window into somewhere just beyond reach

as if the flower is floating in a sea of soft focus
